For the past 18 years, we’ve been measuring our impact through social accounting. This process allows us to reflect on the difference we’ve made in people’s lives and to celebrate everything our community has achieved together.
Each summer, we gather feedback from our community—through questionnaires and other sources—and share the results in our annual Impact Report. Here is the most recently-published one:

What people have said
NMC is my safe space. Without the NMC my mental health would suffer massively. It is the only time I have just for me.
NMC is an incredible support in all areas of my life, helping me to deal with the often rocky world of having a neuromuscular condition.
A lifeline: some weeks it’s the only time I go out.
The NMC has been a lot of support over the years both physically and emotionally. Being able to talk to people the understand what I’m going through and are able to give me advice is a big help; without that I would feel very much alone.
Since attending I have received the necessary guidance, support and treatment. This has supported me in remaining in work, my mobility and outlook on my condition. The team provide varied treatments, knowledge and understanding of all various neurological conditions under one roof, which is hard to source through the NHS.
NMC is the only place I can go where I feel “normal”. People are friendly and respectful and staff and people who use the centre make me feel like I can still be myself and not question my movements or the way I am and act physically. This builds my confidence and improves my mental health as well as all the physical benefits and treatment I get.
Our physio experience survey
At NMC, our aim is to deliver the highest possible standards of care, with physiotherapy being our main clinical intervention. Every few years, we carry out a survey to gather feedback on our community’s experience of physiotherapy at NMC. The results help us shape and develop the service, ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our community.
In summer 2025, we conducted our most recent Physio Experience Survey. Some of the key results are shared below and will also be included in the Impact Report 24/25.
Overall quality of the physiotherapy service at NMC
98%
(Extremely high, Very high or High quality)
Initial Physiotherapy Assessment
96%
(Extremely high, Very high or High quality)
“The physiotherapy staff are knowledgeable about my condition”
98%
(Agree or Strongly Agree)
“The physiotherapy staff are friendly and professional”
99%
(Agree or Strongly Agree)
“I look forward to my physiotherapy sessions at NMC”
97%
(Agree or Strongly Agree)
What difference does attending the NMC physiotherapy service make to your everyday life?
Gives me confidence and keeps me motivated as NMC understands, my situation and needs much better than most people. Also they help in strengthening both physical and mental wellbeing.
I feel stronger and more confident. I also know as soon as I have a ‘new issue’ I can talk to the physios about it and a way forward or support is offered.
NMC makes a big difference, I would be totally isolated otherwise. It means a lot to be with kind and understanding people.
