NMC Endeavour Award

The NMC Endeavour Award is the NMC spin on the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. It is open to anyone with a neuromuscular condition over the age of 25.

It is similar level to the Silver DofE Award and takes around 12 months to complete. We currently have 8 participants and would welcome more people to join us.

The NMC Endeavour Award is a chance to have fun, build confidence and feel a real sense of achievement.

It is all about setting personal challenges and goals in 3 sections:

  • Volunteering
  • Learning a new skill
  • Completing a physical activity

There is also a challenging (fully accessible) expedition. This will take place at Bendrigg Trust in the Lake District. The expedition can be on foot, wheelchair/scooter, canoe or a combination of them. Other activities available at Bendrigg include archery, climbing and abseiling.

Our participants are currently fundraising to pay towards the expedition.

If you are interested in taking part or would like further information, please contact Sarah: sarah.lalieu@nmcentre.com

This beautiful artwork is displayed in the NMC entranceway. It is a stunning “Tree of Earthly Pleasures” made up of 365 individually hand-painted square tiles.

Some fabulous photographs taken as part of a participant’s photography skill.
