Our team is proactive in their professional development, always striving to enhance our services and deliver the best possible support for people living with neuromuscular conditions. Over the coming weeks, most of our Physiotherapy Team will be visiting Aintree Ventilation Centre to learn from their expert team, enhancing our knowledge of providing long-term respiratory support for members of our community who may need it. We are also keen to make links with this team to streamline the referral process.
Our Clinical Specialist Olivia Cunningham-Healey will be completing a course delivered by the AACP (Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists) which is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and understanding to practice acupuncture in a clinical setting. At NMC, acupuncture is used for pain management and participants report a high level of benefit from this treatment, so we are delighted that Olivia will be able to deliver this service to our community.
We also have team members Ellie Cullen and Jake Wyatt completing placements as part of their apprenticeships to become qualified Physiotherapists, and Laura Potts is currently undertaking an Educator course in order to support students who come to us on placement as part of their Undergraduate Physiotherapy degrees.
As well as studying and working at NMC, Jake is also training for the London Marathon 2026 which he is doing to raise funds for us! Any support towards his target will be really appreciated. His JustGiving page can be found by clicking here.
